Eves research was conducted at 4 separate University Buildings to see to what affect prompts (point-of-choice) and a health information day had at promoting stair-climbing use and the comparison of  their cost per intervention. Prompts can be effective in increasing stair use. They can be used in conjunction with the information day to increase results even more. (Eves) Point-of-Choice prompts are intended to interpret habitual behaviour where it occurs, allowing an alternative substitution (such as stairs compared to the elevator). The point-of-choice prompts used were supposed to change the look of the stairs and elevator with music and or art, an email from the company doctor, asking employees to make implementation intentions, and offering incentives when stairs are used. (Eves, 232) Health Informations days are traditionally used to promote physical activity in the workplace. These various activities were supposed to offer first hand experience and change attitudes. Stair-climbing was measured at a baseline, after the health well-being day, and during a point-of-choice prompt intervention. The cost of the stand promoting stair climbing at the workplace wellbeing day was totalled to be $773.96. The point-of-choice prompts on the other hand were only $31.38. These prices  in coordination with the percent increase of stair use after each intervention was evidence supporting the positive, cost friendly implementation of prompts.  These two methods coupled together would increase stair climbing even more. However, certain variables held the research back in terms of the stair-climbing stand. Of the 1200 employees that attended the Health Well-Being day, only 3.2% of the target audience visited the stand.  (Eves,234)
An employee may choose or not to go to an information day, point-of-choice prompts are potentially visible to all employees. (Eves, 235) In conclusion, point-of-choice prompts were successful in behaviour change, they also proved to be more cost effective and visible to potentially all employees.
